New Year Skin Detox - Origins Clear Improvement Mask

Origins Clear Improvement

So its about that time of year where everyone has probably eaten far too much really great tasting food and after all tis the season to be jolly so there may have been an odd tipple or two on the way!

If your anything like me you don't think of what its doing to your skin until all those little pimples pop up to remind you!

Thus drawing me into Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. 'The active charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers'. So all those little nasties down deep in the skin can't pop up and surprise you as a spot!

The mask also has ingredients such as White China which absorbs the toxins so you are literally wiping them out of your skin! and Lecithin which dissolves impurities which make it a whole lots easier for your skin to breathe!

The directions say to open your pores with a warm moist towel and then apply the mask, so i tend to use this after using the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish - two birds one stone and all that!

I love this mask i leave it on for about 15 minutes and once removed my skin feels so much softer and revitalised!

Have you tried any of the Origins Mask? Which is your favourite?

Lots of love

Jo Malone - Peony & Blush Suede

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede

I have had my heart set on a Jo Malone Cologne for a good six months now and when my bae asked me what i wanted for Christmas this was the first thing that popped in head! However i was utter sure that i wanted the Pomegranate Noir scent, but i hadn't ever smelt a Jo Malone fragrance so i really didn't know what to expect!

We made our way to the Jo Malone counter in Selfridges and i straight away picked up the Pomegranate Noir, lets just say I'm glad i went and smelt them before buying, the Pomegranate Noir scent was far too musky and deep for me so i had a little smooze around and ended up choosing Peony & Blush Suede and i love it!

Its perfect for anyone who loves something fruity and floral all at the same time! I adore the scent when i have been wearing this i am constantly getting a whiff of myself. It is super fragrant and it lingers for ages!

Plus it comes with super cute packaging!

What is your favourite Jo Malone scent?

The Hydraluron Hype..

Hydraluron

We have all read about the hype surrounding Indeed Labs Hydraluron and i wanted to see whether it would live up to my built up expectations.
Hydraluron contains one of the purest forms of hyaluronic acid and red marine algae that claims to make skin feel plumper, smoother and softer feeling skin.
I have used so many different moisturisers that i've lost count! The majority of the skin on my face is normal but in the creases of my nose i get really dry skin and when i apply foundation it really does't look flattering so i wanted something that would make my nose match the rest of my face!

I chose Hydraluron because rather than replacing my moisturiser its an extra step, the directions say to apply a small amount before applying moisturiser and works like a sponge.
Hyaluronic acid can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water!

So how did it work for me? Well i have used it for a week so far and have seen a massive difference in my skin, not just around my nose but my whole face! I apply a small amount firstly around my nose and rub it in completely then apply another small amount to the rest of my face then wait five minutes until i apply my daily moisturiser to let it fully sink into the skin.

My skin is feels super soft after using this and my makeup seems to sit better when i have applied this on first, so it must be making some difference in my skin!

The consistency is a cool gel which melts into the skin really easily and doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky like some gel product can.

My only problem with this is now I'm hooked and its not the cheapest of skin care, but i will definitely be repurchasing this again and again, it has made such a big difference to the appearance of my skin i can't imagine not using it!

Have you tried Hydraluron yet? What did you think?

Makeup Revolution - Goddess of Love Highlighter

Who doesn't love a little lot of highlighter?

I've been using the Soap and Glory one for a while now and love it! I put in a little order with Makeup Revolution and thought i would pick up another one (i mean a girl can never have enough makeup!) I chose this one firstly because of the super cute packaging! but also because the majority of my pearl highlighters have a blue undertone to the shimmer and this one looked a little different.

This triple baked highlighter has a pink undertone to the shimmer which i think adds a little more warmth to a look then a blue under toned one! Also the formula for this highlighter is a lot harder then my other highlighters, i guess thats the triple bakedness?! Because its harder is really easy to get the right amount of highlighter on the brush and build it up gently to get the desired look.

I think i actually prefer this to the Soap and Glory and the MUA highlighter because i don't overload on it and because its harder i not scared of it breaking up and covering the rest of my makeup in shimmery goodness! Plus its a bargain at £4.99

Whats your current favourite highlighter?

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette

Pinch punch first of the month! - The Christmas count down has officially begun eeeeppp!

I received my order from Makeup Revolution this morning and couldn't wait to share it with you! (So look out for a few different posts!)

I first thing i put into my basket was the Blush Palette in Golden Sugar. I chose this one because it has a great range of bronzers, blushes and highlighters. which would make a perfect stocking filler for anyone!

On the top row it has a white highlighter with golden flecks that is so super pigments its unbelievable! This would be perfect for people with paler skin but may be a little too white for if you have a darker skin tone. It would also look fab as a inner eye highlight!

Then there is a light pink colour with slightly darker pink flecks which gives a super natural highlight when applied its frosty but not overly so and is very similar in colour to the hourglass ambient blush in Ethereal Glow.

The next i admit does look a little  intimidating in the packaging with its purple colouring but again when this one is applied to the skin it gives a beautiful natural glow! Its not as shimmer as the first two shade so this one could be worn as a blush or highlight.

Then the final colour on the top row is a bronzer with a pinky gold shimmer, which would look beautiful for a contour colour for an evening out! This again would look lovely as blush i would liken the colour to Nars Orgasm in colour but with a lot more shimmer.

First up on the bottom row is the most subtle highlight of them all its it would be perfect for everyday wear, it offers a warm glow to the skin and would be more suited to darker skins then the first shade.

Next is a darker pink highlighter with silver undertones which is a dark version of shade two. This one again is warmer than shade two so would look great as a highlight blush.

Thirdly is the super golden bronzer with orange undertone. This one for me is the hardest one to know what to do with. Its a little too orange to wear as blush or and too shimmery to wear or bronzer so the only option would be highlight or eyeshadow. It is really warmed toned and would probably be great in summer when i have a little more colour but at the moment I'm super pale and just doesn't suit me at the moment

Last but certainly not least is the matte bronzer which is an orange tone brown so is perfect for adding a little warmth back into a look.

Overall i love this palette. Its super versatile and can create so many different looks with. Every single colour is super pigmented and a dream to blend.

Have you tried this palette yet? What do you think? xx

Aussie Winter Miracle

Is your hair in need of a miracle? I know mine gets that way when its none stop cold and rain and then getting warm with the central heating!

I stumbled across this in my local Boots whilst picking up a few bits, its the Aussie Winter Miracle. This is the same formula they use for their Miracle Shine range but  just in a limited edition packaging, which to be honest i didn't read that part until i got home and so was a little disappointed it wasn't something new but hey ho Aussie shampoos and conditions are always fab!

It is made with the same Australian Ginseng extract - an exotic ingredient that is known for power boosting antioxidant and Pearl Powder which give a perfect shine to hair. Like all Aussie products they smell divine and my hair just loves them.

One of my favourite things about the Aussie ranges is the little bits of comedy writing, if you've owned Aussie you'll know what i mean!

I am never disappointed with Aussie and their hair care, they always leave my hair super soft and shiny and smelling incredible.

Have you tried Aussie? What did you think?

Top Coats - Super Shine vs Matt

Nail polish can really finish an outfit and for me there are two top  ermmm top coats.

My favourite super shine top coat is the Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Top Coat. It is super thick and dries with a gel look finish. I adore a shine finish which makes nails look like they were done in a salon. No7 Stay Perfect Top Coat gives long lasting peel and chip resistance. Touch dry in 60 seconds and its only £6.  I really want to try the Seche Vita Top Coat but i love this one too much to change?

Then there is matte. I think a matte finish on nails gives a super elegant finish to a look. I love the nails inc Matte Top Coat, what make this one my favourite is that it only takes one coat to get the desired finish. It is a little pricier then most top coats at £12.

Whats your favourite top coat? would you recommend changing to the Seche Vita Top Coat?

Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil

During one of one too many visits to Boots I picked up a new lip product that is good enough to rival those from Nars, it is the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil, i chose Minimalist, which i would compare the colour to Nars' "Sex Machine" it is a perfect pinky nude with a subtle pink shimmer. It is a perfect everyday shade, it has just the right amount of warm and cool tones that would flatter any skin tone.

I must admit it isn't as smooth to apply as the Nars pencils but once its on it is a lovely colour which is very pigmented (especially the darker shades!) with a perfect velvet matt finish that is super long wearing.

These little pencils are packaged lovely, they look high end with the black pencil and the shade of the pencil at the end.

I must admit i have tried a quite a few lips pencils and often find myself disappointed with them but this little beauty was a great surprise, i know i will get a lot of use out of this little bad boy and have already got my eyes on a ton more colours!

Have you tried the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils yet?

My New Brow Pow!!

I had been using the Models Co More Brows and absolutely loved it until my pesky puppy got his paws on it then it was no more!

So i decided to pick up the Maybelline Browdrama - Sculpting Brow Mascara and the Maybelline Browsatin - Smoothing Duo-Brow Pencil and Filling Powder, i have been really impressed with the Maybelline releases lately so couldn't wait to give these a try.

Since i have darkened my hair slightly on top i have been more comfortable going for a darker brow, so i picked these two up in dark blonde.

The Brow Satin is super easy to use, it has a retractable pencil on one end which is super thin which make it really easy to create small hair like lines to make the brows look more natural and on the other end it has when i can only describe as a smudger brush. The smudger end is actually really clever how they have put it all together. The brush twists into the cap which holds an ashy coloured packed powder that when the lid is twisting on applies to the brush which is used to set the pencil in place.

Then there is the Brow Drama which is a whole other ball game! This is a brow mascara that adds fullness to the brows and a hit more colour. I use this after i have used the Browsatin to finish off the brows and make sure the colour stays in place all day. The only part of this product i am not the keenest on is the wand. It starts of like an ordinary brush but has a huge sphere on the end, which if it was a little smaller would have been great but for my brows it is just too big an i have to pay extra attention not to get the product all over my face!

What are your current favourite eyebrow products?

Kissing You Softly...

Lip exfoliate

Since it has started getting colder i have tried to take more care of my hand and lips because they are the part of me that seem to get hit worst by the cold weather. I stumbled across this little beauty in one of my Glossybox's.

It is the Stre Belle Liplift Peel. I have always been a massive fan of Lush's Lip Scrub but it is sometimes a little too abrasive but this is the right kind of rough (if you know what i mean?!). It has tiny little beads in it that scrub away dead skin set in a rich cream.

This is a great product because the beads gently exfoliate the dead skin and the creaminess of the product soothes and moisturises the lips, plus i find this so much easier to apply then the Lush lip scrub you can just apply straight from the tube instead of having to dig your finger into the jar and make a big mess!

What have you been using to keep your lips kissing softly?

New Hair - New Hair Care

If you follow me on Instagram - link :) you may have seen i have recently changed my hair. I wanted something darker but i didn't want to fully convert to a brunet - im just not that daring yet! So i decided on this...

I dyed the top of my hair a really dark blonde and lightened the ends, so yeah i went blonde ombré. Its not exactly how i wanted it but i did it myself and i think its the best i could have done!

For colouring i used L'Oreal Colour PrĂ©fĂ©rence in Rimini for the top and Schwarzkopf Blonde Ultime 12-0 xtra light natural blonde for the ends.

I use the same shampoo and conditioner which is the Gariner Ultimate Blends in The Sleek Restorer and The Silky Smoother which you can read about here - Link. The little editions that have found there way into my hair care routine are The L'OrĂ©al Elvive ExtraOrdinary Oil Nourishing Mask Balm. Quite a mouth full i will admit but this has worked wondered for my hair since colouring it. The masque is super thick and clings to the hair. I apply this after shampooing and conditioning my hair from root to tip and leave it on a good five minutes whilst i wash and once rinsed it left my hair super silky and detangled it is fast becoming one of my favorites! A very similar product my hair has loved is the L'OrĂ©al Professional Mythic Oil Masque. I use it in the exact same way i do the ExtraOrdinary Oil masque and the results are more or less exact so i would recommend either of those two.

I said in a previous post that i am a bit lazy when i comes to using a heat protector but because i have coloured my hair more than i usually do i ave been on top of my hair game and started using the  VO5 Smoothly Does It Tame and Shine Spray. For me this has worked the best for my hair at keeping those dreaded fly aways to a minimum and it smells incredible.

The final addition to my hair care bunch my Tangle Teezer i wrote about this already here, but since using it more and more i have noticed that my hair has had less breakage which for me any brush that does whats its supposed to and more is a winner in my books.

What are your hair care staples?

MAC Studio Fix Fluid - NW15

I recently featured this in my October favorites post - link, but i realised i hadn't ever done a full review post on the MAC Studio Fix Fluid - NW15.

What i love most about this foundation is the coverage. I use hardly any and it covers my full face and high coverage. All i do is turn the bottle upside down until the product starts to show and then dab my foundation brush over the opening and usually the amount of product on the brush is enough to cover my whole face.

When i purchased the foundation i went into House of Fraser to the MAC counter and i was matched up to NW15, i would highly recommend getting matched up before buying because i was looking at buying this online for a while and i thought from the photographs that NW20 would be my colour. Phew saved myself from an orange face there!

Sometimes when changing to a full coverage foundation it can break some people out depending on your skin type but with this i had zero break outs and actually found i have had less blemishes since using, i don't know whether it is just a coincidence that the weather has changed and so has my skin or whether it is using a higher end foundation that has stopped the spots? Any thoughts?

The price may be a little more than what some want to pay for a foundation at £21.50 but if your due a little treat i would definitely treat yourself to this, for me it has lasted longer than my drug store ones and it stays put for longer throughout the day.

My only qualm with this foundation is the smell, i really can't put my finger on what the scent is but its just really odd!

Have you tried the MAC Studio Fix Fluid?

5. Victor & Rolf Flower Bomb - My all time favorite fragrance. This has been my signature scent for years now and as you can see from the photograph above it is running dangerously low. Anyone who hasn't smelt this perfume i urge to go to your nearest perfume counter and give it a whiff, you will not be disappointed.

October Favorites

October Favorites

I think its about time i started to share with you my monthly favorites. For me October was pretty mild - weather wise so many of my clothing items stayed the same, but i always like to switch and try new beauty items so if something pops up more than once in my favorites you know its a real good un'.

1. MAC Studio Fix Foundation - I was umming and erring whether or not to get this foundation or the Estee Lauder Double Wear, in the end i got the Studio Fix and boy do i love it. The coverage is high so it only take a really small amount to cover the full face. The only disadvantage for me is the smell, i don't even know how to describe it.... its just odd.

2. Babyliss Pro Curl Secret - I got this for Christmas last year and i really only used it for an evening out but now i have changed my hair i am using it more on a daily basis on the lowest setting to create beautiful waves!

3. Soap & Glory Super Cat Eyeliner - You may have read my post about this item here. My everyday makeup is a winged liner so naturally i have been using this every day and the colour is still super black and the nib is still just as easy to draw with as it was new.

4. Soap & Glory Hand Food - I'm sure some sort of hand moisturiser will be popping up on bloggers favorites allover in the next few months. For me it is a necessity for the colder months, my hands get super cold which then dries them out leaving them dry and sore so to be able to pop one of these in my handbag is a little life saver.

What has been on your favorites list last month and what are you looking forward to this month?

Still Tangled?!

Tangle Teezer

Well things really didn't go to plan! We have recently moved house and were going to be without internet until The Virgin Man can and installed it for us. Me being super keen wrote enough posts to keep me going during it that time and thought i had scheduled them to post themselves.... turns out i didn't do that correctly. So i am sorry i haven't posted for a while but that is the only reason! Heyho lesson learnt, I've now actually looked it up how to do it correctly and it shan't happen again!

The much hyped Tangle Teezer... My hair is notorious for being knotty and tangled so much so when i was young un' my dad called me scrag end because i would go to school with my hair done all pretty and come home with it stuck up all over the place and looking a real mess!

So reading and hearing so much about The Tangle Teezers I knew i HAD to have one. I obviously went for the pink one! From what i heard these rang through the hair without any snagging or pulling and left hair super healthy looking. So needless to day i had high hopes!

I picked it up on lunch break and as soon as i got back to the office NEEDED to give it a go! for me it is lovely and feels really nice when brushing on the scalp, but i was a little underwhelmed when it did tug. I must admit it doesn't pull as much as an ordinary brush but none the less it pulled. Plus i have found once brushed through and knot free it does keep it in such state a lot longer than an ordinary brush does.

Over all i do really like The Tangle Teezer and really want to get the one specifically for wet hair o and the compact one! I should have really known that no brush would be completely snag free, but we all can hope eh?

Pulling Out The Purples

Purples

Its that time of year i start pulling out the purples, vamping up my make up and whack on a big cozy jumper!

One of my favorite things to wear is dark nails, i think they can bring a look together and they just look so elegant! My purple pick for dark nail is OPI's Vamsterdam. It is a stunning rich purple with bronze shimmer.

Then there is the three purple lipsticks, one of my all time favorite MAC lipsticks is perfect for fall, all though i must admit it did make a few appearance during the warmer months too. Rebel is the most perfect deep berry purple. It looks lovely with just a go over the lips and it is also really build-able to give a stunning colour that lass all day. This is a satin finish which gives the lips a beautiful shine.

Then there was the matte finish. This one is from MUA called Wild Berry. This is not the most pigments lipstick but builds to a really nice pinky purple. Even though it is a matte formula unlike MAC it does wear away quite easily. If you are not into big bold lips and a little afraid on Rebel this would be a great place to start adding a little purple to your collection and with it only being £1 if you still don't think purple is for you at least it wouldn't break the bank!

The final lipstick would look great for an evening out, it is a super shimmer purple from Maybelline and is from the Moisture Extreme Collection. The shade is Silver Plum and As you would expect from the name the lipstick is super moisturising and glides onto the lips effortlessly and again like the MUA lipstick the colour is really build-able so you could go as sheer or as bold as you like with this one. The shade is a medium purple with a very high shine.

Then the two final lip product are glosses from Stila - Tropica Punch and BellĂ¡ Pierre - Raspberry. I have grouped these together as there really isn't much between them. They are both super glossy, with our being sticky the only difference is Raspberry is a deep berry shade where as Tropica Punch a super sheer pinky purple.

Have you pulled out your purples?

Garnier- Ultimate Blends

I think its safe to say that we can all be a little lazy when it comes to using heat protector before using the hair dryer, so i usually lead towards a shampoo and conditioner my favorite being the Aussie 'Take the Heat' range. I have found it tames fly away and it smells incredible!
Having said that when it came to the bottom of the bottle and time to buy something new, i reached for the Garnier Ultimate Blends.
There are so many different types to chose from in this range, its hard to know which ones to choose!

For shampoo i opted for 'The Sleek Restorer' which is made with coconut oil and cocoa butter. Coconut oil is renowned for its amazing qualities that help soften hair and skin, much like cocoa butter that is super for getting shut of dryness. The Sleek Restorer claims super-sleek smoothness for dry and frizzy hair.
I love the packaging of the shampoo, I'm not sure what it is but it just looks really luxurious with the brown and bronze colours. Have i mentioned to scent? This smells divine, its like a sweet hint of chocolate, which i admit will not be to everyone's taste but i adore it!
The shampoo lathers really well, so it only needs a really small amount for good hair coverage. I chose the 400ml bottle so i am guessing it will last me quite a long time.

The conditioner i chose a different one from the range, I went for 'The Silky Smoother' which is made using vanilla milk and papaya which lend softening and revitalising properties to the conditioner. This conditioner claims to bring touchably smooth ends to mid-long hair with split ends.
Again for the scent this is scrummy, it is a super sweet fruity scent which lingers on the hair even after drying. However i am not so sold on the colours of the packaging, from the browns and bronzes looking really luxurious to peach and orange which doesn't look as nice - but its not all about the packaging right? This conditioner is one of the best i have tried in a long time, i apply it to towel dried hair and leave it to sit for a good 5 minutes and once rinsed it left my hair incredibly smooth and really easy to brush through afterwards.

What is your current favorite hair care?

Barry M Gelly - Chai

I have always been a fan of high shine nails and since the release of Barry M's Gelly Nail Paint they have my go to super shine nail polish. I think having a manicure that catches the light is super flattering.
The new autumn winter collection has a range of stunning colours that when looking at on the shelf Barry M really have done a great job in capturing fall in the 10ml bottles. With all the shades Barry M have gone for a spice theme including Mustard, Paprika, Cocoa, Cardamon and Chilli and then my first and favorite from the collection -Chai.

For me Chai is a stunning shade of grey, once on the nails it does have a hint of green to it though, which i must admit took me by a little surprise! I had to ask my boyfriend if he thought the same and that my eyes had started going funny on me because there isn't any hint from looking at the bottle there is any greenness to it. Its a warm toned grey/green which i think would look great  with any skin tone.

What is your favorite from the Barry M autumn winter collection?

SuperCat v SuperCat Fat

Soap & Glory SuperCat

Soap & Glory SuperCat Fat

Using SuperCat Fat on the side, Using SuperCat Fat on the flat edge and using SuperCat.

I have been using the Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner for such a long time now, I mainly chose it because it was the least expensive liner I could find at the time! It turned out to be really good and have just repurchased and repurchased. I read so much about the L'Oréal Super Liner and i swore to myself that would be my next eyeliner purchase. But you know how it is when wondering around Boots looking at the offers and Soap and Glory was on buy one get one get one half so me being the lover of cat eyes i am picked one of each of the SuperCat Liners.

The SuperCat is your typical felt liner from the shape and length of the nib to the outer packaging. Soap & Glory describe it as a Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner Pen with inkjet colour release and gloss-fix finish. As you can see from the photograph above it really is super black and can draw a really thin precise line.

The SuperCat Fat is anything but your ordinary liner. This has a super thick slanted nib which resembles more of a marker then a liner! Like the other liner it is extremely easy to draw onto the eye with out any drag. This one is described as a Jumbo Carbon Black Ink Eyeliner. I must admit i do struggle with this one to get my everyday cat eye look, so this one will only be pulled out when i'm feeling more adventurous with eyeliner

I am super happy with both the liners, the both draw on extremely well with ultra black lines. I would use the ordinary SuperCat for every day use and the SuperCat Fat when i am wanting my eye makeup to make more of a statement for an evening out maybe.

Have you tried either of the liners? what do you think?

MAC Paint Pot - Soft Ochre

1. MAC Paint Pot - Soft Ochre. 2. Paint Pot with Urban Decay Virgin. 3. Urban Decay Virgin without Paint Pot.

On a recent trip to Manchester I picked up a MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. I had never used a Paint Pot previously and its one of them products you need to try for your self to see if it works as much as the hype says. I chose Soft Ochre because it is a soft matte nude colour, i didn't want to get anything too dramatic for my first one and hate it!

On MAC's website it describes this shade as a pearl finish, but honestly i do not see anything pearly about it to me it is a yellow toned beige with a matte finish. The formula is super creamy which makes is really easy to apply and blend into the lid or with other colours.

What i love about the Paint Pots is that they can be used on their own or used as a base for eye shadow. I have tried them both way and i love it. I use it by itself with a cat eyed liner and it just leaves a subtle hint of colour on the lids and has a lasting effect all day. Unlike some cream shadows/bases the Paint Pots don't smudge or crease making them perfect for day or night wear.

I also really enjoy using this product underneath eye shadow, i find throughout the day my shadow can fade and when creating a slight smokey eye all the colours have faded into one by home time. Using the Paint Pot it really makes the colours of the shadows pop and really does keep them put for as long as you  need them too!

I will defiantly be trying out some different shades, maybe a more colourful one to wear on its own? What you recommend?
