Bedside Beauty

Bedside Beauty

Theres not much more that will help me settle down for a good sleep then a little pamper before bed. The products i love using are...

Night Cream: Origins Night a Mins. This is a prefect moisturiser for me, its a thick cream with a gel like consistency. The cream sinks effortlessly into the skin ad leaves my skin super moisturised and smelling delicious! The cream has a chocolaty orange scent which only hangs around for a short while so its not something thats off putting!

Eye Cream: This is something i use morning and night, its the Boots Botanics Radiant Youth Eye Cream. This cream is again one that just sinks into the skin and it doesn't leave a sticky residue. I apply this by squeezing a small amount onto my ring finger and pat it in all under my eye and up to my brow bone.

That extra treat: This is something i use when my skin can use that little extra pick me ups, Origins Drink up Intensive Overnight Mask - I have done a full review on this here and theres no denying that i love this stuff. It the easiest face mask to use and adds so much more subtleness to the skin!

Body - I love a good body butter and one of my favourites is The Body Shops body butter in Coconut its super thick and easily melts into the skin. Plus who doesn't like going to sleep, smelling like their on holiday!

Hands: My hands get really really dry in winter so i have to keep on top of hand cream, i have my little handbag hero Soap and Glory Hand Food on me at all times but i love to use this Figs & Rouge hand cream in Mango before bed for that little extra softness.

Hair: My boyfriend has a very annoying habit of twiddling my hair when were in bed and most would think arrhh. But no seriously he twiddles and leave knots all the time. So i use my Tangle Teezer every night before bed to make my hair as knot free as i possibly can

What is in your bedtime routine?

L'Oréal Youth Code

Boreal Youth Code

So i ran out of my usual day cream a while back and have just been using my night cream as a substitute until i had finally got around to picking something new up.

I decided to get this - L'Oréal Youth Code. Which is primarily aimed at people aged 30-40 but what better time to start looking after your skin properly than now?

I love a moisturiser that is thick in consistency, doesn't have a scent that is too strong and something that really helps my skin look and feel better. This ticks all them boxes for me! The consistency is almost gel like that is super easy to work into the skin, the scent is your typical L'Oréal scent, perfumed but not over powering and it doesn't linger for a long time.

Then theres the result.. When i apply my foundation you can usually see a little dryness on my forehead, this hasn't made it completely go yet but its getting there, it looks so much better and my skin feel moisturised all day.

It makes my skin look so much more healthier and luminous.

I would consider this to be middle of the road in terms of price, its currently on offer at Boots for £10.50 with its usual price at £15.75

What is you current favourite daytime moisturiser?

Face of the Moment

Face of the moment - http://kirstyleighx.blogspot.co.uk

I love reading 'face of week' posts but i honestly don't change my everyday make up all that often. Ill change my lip colour and maybe add a little eye shadow but for my usual everyday going to work face this is what i wear.

Base - L'Oréal True Match Foundation in D1/W1 which i think is Golden Ivory. It is the perfect match for my skin, some foundation can be quite yellow on me but with this on L'Oréal have got the blend of yellow and pink tones bob on with this one!

Base - Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - I picked this one up recently in a different shade to what i would usually. I normally go for the translucent one but this time i wanted something that would bring a  little extra warmth to my makeup. The shade i picked up was Pink Blossom which as the name suggests has a very slight pink undertone.

Colour - The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in Fair Matte - I blogged about how much i loved this bronzer last week which you can read here and it turned out to be my most popular post yet! For me it is the most perfect bronzer. Not an ounce of shimmer and a perfect cool tone.

Colour - MAC Sheertone Blush in Springsheen - I love this for adding a little radiance into the look. It is a lovely pink toned coral with golden shimmer, which if you don't go over the top with adds a beautiful natural glow.

Brows - Maybelline Brow Satin in Dark Blonde -  again this is another product i have raved about in a blog post which you can read here. This a new staple for me, it has the pencil on one end which is perfect for filling the brows in and on the other side is a smudger brush which when the lid is on is dipped into a powder that is perfect for setting the wax pencil.

Eyes - L'Oréal Super Liner in Black - My go to look is winged liner and i have tried near every eyeliner under the sun and this one is probably one of the easiest and blackest ones i have used. The nib is quite long and super thin so it is great for getting right next to the lashes and creating a shape flick.

Eyes - Maybelline The Flasies Mascara in Black - This is the only mascara i have bought for a good five eyes, i've lost count how many times i've re-purchased it! I just love it you can read my full review here. Everything from the formula to the brush works for me and unless something comes along that blows this out of the water or Maybelline discontinue it i can see this in my makeup bag for the foreseeable future.

What are your current make up go to's?

Urban Decay Naked Flushed - Native

Urban Decay Naked Flush Native - http://kirstyleighx.blogspot.co.uk

The Urban Decay Naked Flush palette is available in four different shades;  Naked, Strip, Streak and Native, so there should be something there for everyone!

I opted for the later one and chose Native. The palette has a beautiful bronzer, sparkling highlight and  a barbie pink blush.

All three are super soft and buttery which makes them a dream to blend. This palette would fit best with deeper skin tones or would make a perfect holiday companion, it would look stunning with a tan! The bronzer is quite deep and orange toned. The blush is a beautiful candy barbie pink, which is super pigmented so it only needs a little. The highlight is super icy and again is really pigmented so could be easy to overload on this!

I also love this packaging for this, it is very similar to the Basics palettes with the size, magnetic closing and the mirror which is the same size as the product.

This is a stunning palette and one thats super easy to throw in your bag to top up during the day, but one that i probably use when i get me a little tan going on!

Origins - Drink Up Intensive

Origins Overnight Mask

Origins Drink Up Mask, there is a lot of hype about this mask and honestly i can see why! A lot of time with face masks i neglect them because i am quite lazy with skin care and can never be bothered to sit for ten minutes - unless in the bath and then remove it again after but this mask if different!

This mask you apply at the very end of your skin care, and apply it thick and then go to bed and forget about it! The mask is a super hydrator and with all the beautiful natural ingredients the skin literally drinks it up and leaves the skin feeling like a babies bum!

I tend to get dry patches around my nose and at the beginning of my eyebrows which when i applied foundation made it look ten times worse, but i have noticed a big difference using this, my dry patches are near gone and my skin just looks and feels so much healthier. I have also found that i don't have to use a much foundation as i usually would.

All round this is a stunning mask, i wouldn't recommend for people with oily skin because it is super hydrating it may cause breakouts, but its great for my normal/combination skin!

It retails at £23 so its not the cheapest of masks but for what it brings to my skin i can see it being a staple for a long time!

What masks do you use?

The Perfect Bronzer

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer

I have found it super hard to find a bronzer that has no shimmer and that is not too orange to contour with that was until i came across The Body Shop Honey Bronzer. I picked this up in the shade fair matte.

I used to use the Soap and Glory Solar Powder but found it could sometimes look a little orange on me  especially for everyday wear.

I have the second lightest shade, it also comes in Light Matte, Fair Matte, Medium Matte and Dark Matte. This for me is the perfect contour shade because it has no shimmer, glitter or any other little jazzies thrown in there it leaves a natural looking shadow.

I am quite pale and this is the perfect shade for me and it goes even paler so if you are really fair and have trouble finding a decent bronzer I would definitely recommend trying this one. I think you would be pleasantly surprised!

Dior - Miss Dior

Miss Dior

I was very a very lucky girl this year when it came to fragrance gifts! My fabulous boyfriend also picked me up the Dior Miss Dior perfume.

This on was a total surprise and i love it! Miss Dior is described as 'captivating Egyptian jasmine draped around Indonesian patchouli. The elegance of a sensual floral Chypre.

This is sweet floral scent which i think is really elegant and super sexy! This again is a fragrance that last all day and you get little whiffs of your self throughout the day!

This scent is perfect for anyone, its not too deep and floral that it would suit older people more and its not too sweet that it would suit younger people better. It is just the right mix of both and i would consider to be an ageless perfume!

Another plus about this perfume is bottle, i mean how cute is that!

How you tried the Miss Dior perfume yet? What perfume did you get for Christmas?
