Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet vs Aqua ♡

Hi everyone! Sorry i've been gone for a little while - things have been a little in the air with me recently but im back now and i am so excited to be blogging again :)

So its no secret that the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets fast became a cult drug store favourite - the formula is super smooth and applies effortlessly and not to mention the staying power of these beauties is amazing! You can read a review i did here

The Aqua Laque didn't seem to have the same buzz about them - i dont know if thats just me but i rarely hear people raving about these or see them in peoples favourites. However if your not a big fan of matte lips and prefer something super glossy then this would be right up your street.
I must admit it does feel a little strange when first applying because if feels really wet and a little cold. The colour range that is available in this formula isn't as vast as the Velvet editions but they have 8 shades ranging from nudes to pink to reds so there should be something for everyone.

Personally i much prefer the Velvet editions but i do love a matte lip and for me with a lipstick staying power is a must - aint no body got time to top up their lipstick ever hour or so!

Which one is your favourite?

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush - Lovely Pink ♡

There has been a lot of hype around these Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes because they are such a great dupe for the Hour Glass Ambient Blushes - now i have never tried the Hour Glass Version so i can't really put my two pence in about that but the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush are truly stunning!

I have this in Lovely Pink which is a beautiful pale pink, with a golden shimmer, which makes it perfect for a blush highlight. Max Factor designed these blushes making a perfect shade for each skin tone, Lovely pink is designed for paler skin but honestly i think all the blushes will look lovely every skin tone, I really want to try Gorgeous Berries, which is a beautiful plumy shade.

The Creme Puff Blushes are baked which gives them phenomenal staying power and man are they pigmented!

Like i said i haven't tried the Hour Glass comparison and as much as i want to these Max Factor ones are only £8.99 and one of the best high street blushes i have every tried! So for now these will do me perfectly!

Bourjois Aqua Laque - Babe Idol ♡

Since the release of the ever so popular Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipstick, Bourjois have launched something for those who like a little more shine to the lips.

The Aqua Laque, the packaging and the applicator is the same as the velvet versions, so the doe foot applicator make it super easy to apply an even amount of product all over the lips.

The main difference for me between the Velvet and Aqua editions apart from the obvious ones matte and the other is glossy! is the staying power, the velvet ones stain your lip and make the colour last all day and this one you will probably find it will need topping up every few hours! The colour however is very build able so if you fancied a little hint or pop of colour you could just keep on of these to hand for both!

It does feel super moisturising when applied to the lip, so if your having a dry lip day this would be perfect, the formula feels like water on the lips and feels oddly cold!

Its available in 8 shades ranging from nudes to bright reds to pinks and plums so there is sure to be a colour there for you!

Babe Idol - is a very soft pink which will look lovely for spring and summer and like i mentioned it really easy to build up the colour and make that more brighter!

A Little TLC for The Locks ♡

Me and my boyfriend recently visited his brother and sister in law down in London, we had an absolutely amazing time and i got a good bit of advice for my hair too!

Nathan's sister in law is a head stylist at one if the Vidal Sassoon salons and she offered to give my hair a little trim which of course i was more than happy about - she did grimace slightly when i told her it had probably been a good year - year and a half since i had last had a trim! *naughty me!*

When she trimmed my hair she said that i has some breakage to the underneath of my hair and obviously had a ton of split ends, she also said that my hair was quite dry. I asked what she  would recommend to help it out and she said to try get a shampoo, conditioner and hair masque that has protein in it.

The protein with help the hair lock in moisture but also make it a lot stronger and less inclined to break. So i scoured Feel Unique and there is quite a few good - and pricey!- hair treatments on there, i really recommend the Aveda Damage Remedy range, it smells very spa like but works like a dream on the hair!

A bit of a long back story but today i wanted to share a masque that has done wonders for my hair and is a lot more accessible and affordable then the Aveda ones. Charles Worthington Salon at Home Mineral Hair Rescue Masque. I got mine from Boots for just £5.99, it comes in a good sized 150ml pot which is lasts for quite a while, i've used mine twice a week for about 3 weeks now and i still have half left.

This little masque has so many amazing ingredients for you hair like Argan Oil to nourish, Marine Minerals to aid recovery and helps hair grow and Conditioning Proteins which help replace the hairs natural proteins lost during heat staying and make hair stronger and more healthy looking!

The masque also comes in a little pot with a flip up lid so its really easy to get exactly the right amount of product and you don't have to worry about squeezing a bottle to an inch of its life when its getting toward the end!

The masque has made my hair look and feel so much more healthy. It super soft and so easy to brush through after a shower - i will definitely continue to buy this masque its super cheap and just amazing!

What are your favourite hair masque?

The Perfect High Street/ Drug Store Foundation? ♡

So as most of you probably know, L'Oréal has quite a few brands under its group such as YSL and Giorgio Armani, but somehow it still amazes me when L'Oréal Paris release something as amazing as this foundation!

I have been using this foundation for a good month now in conjunction with the L'Oréal Infallible Primer - which you can read about here and like most other people who have tried this is has soon become my favourite everyday foundation.

The formula is light on the face but still has a medium to high coverage, and easily covers up little imperfections. It blends super easily and i have had quite a lot of compliments saying how nice my skin looks!

The formula is Matte, but its not super matte, it still allows the skins natural glow to shine through a little and it doesn't dry my skin out at all and i tend to suffer from dry patches around my nose and forehead. The consistency of the foundation is more toward the thicker end of scale but i have found that its not cakey in the slightest - even with my pores!

The shade i picked up matches me perfectly - i have relatively pale skin with pinky undertones and Natural Rose is ideal! The only downside i can see to this foundation is that at the moment it is only available in 6 shades which is a bit of a bummer and the shade look like they are more suited to pale and medium skin tones, so if you are rocking a tan or have dark skin, you may find it hard to find a shade to match up with!

In The VIP With The Movie Stars - L'Oréal Color Riche Lipstick - VIP ♡

L'Oreal_Color_Riche_Lipstick_VIP

VIP Lipstick Lip Swatch

Since buying this lipstick a few weeks ago it has fast become one of my favourites. Its a perfect matte lipstick and what makes this super special is that the formula is really creamy and not drying in the slightest.

The is a perfect red toned coral, which makes it perfect for the upcoming months. Like i said the formula of this lipstick is super creamy which means it glides onto the lips like a dream without any dragging and the colour pay off, i mean wow these lipsticks are super pigmented and the colour is really buildable.

The colour is really long lasting and doesn't transfer when eating or drinking - which is always a winner in my eyes!

I adore this lipstick and there are so many other shades in the range that very from pinks to nudes to bright reds. They also have some shades in a satin finish if you are not a fan of matte. I will definitely be picking more of these lipsticks they are amazing!

5 Reasons You Should Try Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish ♡

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Review

I absolutely adore the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser so i thought i would share with you my top 5 reasons why you should need to try it!

1. You don't have to splash your face with water and get it all in your hair and mascara running in your eyes!

2.  High quality ingredients mean its great for your skin, it has zero mineral oils and cocoa butter to moisturise, hops extract to tone, chamomile to sooth, eucalyptus to cool, bees wax to protect and rosemary for the amazing antioxidants!

3. It is super easy to disperse with the pump, no trying to squeeze every last drop out until your blue in the face

4. Removes every ounce of make up, even waterproof mascara

5. It lasts for ages, i use this day and night everyday and it lasts a good 3-4 months!

The Perfect Spring Blush - Revlon Classy Coral

Revlon_Blush_Classy_Coral_KirstyLeigh

I love wearing blush, it adds a little extra pop to a makeup look and now the weather has gotten warmer i thought i should add a little coral to the collection! Classy Coral from Revlon is a beautiful warm tones pinky coral colour that would is perfect for a little pop of coral for spring!

In no way is this blush an in your face orangey coral. The blush is beautifully natural looking and its not lacking in pigmentation. The satin finish makes it really easy to blend out so its leaves nice subtle hint of colour and adds a little glow to the completion plus the colour stays put all day without fading!

Its not the cheapest of blushes from the high street, but i love the shade and the packaging is really handy to have in your handbag, because of the little brush and mirror that are included in the compact.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet - Frambourjoise ♡

Super late to this game but i have absolutely fallen head over heals fro the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet range, not even just one colour... them all!

These liquid lipsticks glide effortlessly onto the lips and it feels super soft and can only be describes as velvety! The matte formula means then when the lipstick is set it lasts for a good 4 hours as long as you don't eat or drink anything in that time it won't need reapplying.

This one is Frambourjoise which looks like a brilliant red but it is really a super dark pink, when it has set on the lips is is stunning. Unlike other liquid lipstick the colour stays true to colour when first applied, it doesn't fade or darken after application!

Its perfect for both day and night wear as the colour can be intensified with a few more coats or could we worn quite muted with just a little but of product.

L'Oréal Infaillible Mattifying Primer ❤

LOREAL Infallible Mattifying Base

I have been using this base now for about a month to get a really good feel for it, sometimes you can use a product the first few times and love it, but after a few week it decides to break you out and play havoc with your skin! Well thankfully this product has been brilliant for me.

The silicon based primer is smooths onto the skin and makes applying foundation a dream. The formula is mattifying, so if you are someone who struggles with too much shine then this would be prefect. I have normal skin with dry patches and this smooths over effortlessly and doesn't cling to any dry patches.

A little really does do the trick and it doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy.

Like most primers it is supposed to smooth out pores and lines, honestly i didn't notice my pores being reduced at all but it is amazing for keeping makeup put all day long.

I really would recommend this primer to any one and everyone. Its a super cheap primer that keeps excess shine at bay and keeps foundation looking fresh all day!

Something I Regret :(

Boots_Botanics_Hot_Cloth_Cleansing_Balm_Review

I really don't like talking negatively about a product but, I was that unhappy with this buy i had to share it.

Its the Boots Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm. I purchased this because i ran out of my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and needed something to fill the gap until pay day. So seeing this in Boots for £8 I thought what a bargain and its just what I needed.

Now i have never used a cleansing balm before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I have heard so many good reviews about the Clinique balm so I was hoping this would be a good little dupe.

Well... it starts off good, the balm is solid in the tube but as soon as you dig your fingers in starts melting and makes it super easy to rub into the face.

Then rubbing it into the face it is super oily and really hard to wash off. i felt like i had to wash my face with a face wash afterwards to make sure all the product was gone!

Its not something I would by again, when I wash my face I want it to feel clean, not like i have rubbed butter all over my face!

Have you tired this? What is your favourite hot cloth cleanser?

Kick Imperfections' Ass...

Soap&Glory_Kick_Ass_Concealer

So it seems I've been on a little concealer buying spree... but i think when you have a good concealer in your arsenal then you've pretty much nailed a flawless look!

I have used the Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer before - the three piece camouflage kit and loved it but when that ran out i went back to the old favourite collection concealer.

Whilst looking for some new makeup this little beauty caught my eye. The Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer - Blur & Brighten concealer. Which comes in a nifty little pen and is available in two colours - Light and Medium.

Of course i went for Light, which matches my skin tone perfectly! This is a great light weight concealer that covers most imperfections, if you have quite dark under eye circles i would probably opt for the original Kick Ass Concealer.

The formula is super creamy which makes it really easy to apply without dragging the skin and super easy to blend in but this does mean it needs to be set with a good powder other wise it creases! It works just as well whether you prefer to apply concealer under your foundation or over the top, but it also looks perfect without any foundation.

Have you tried this yet? if not which concealer do you recommend?

Rimmel Provocalips - Little Minx

Rimmell Provocalops Little Mix Swatch

Well I finally have my computer back and I can blog again :) yey!!

I have been loving this lip colour for that past couple of weeks, its a perfect in your face pink that is perfect now the days are starting to get warmer and when applied with the balm it lasts all day!

The Rimmel Provocalips is available in eight different shades from a subtle nude to the deepest plum! So there is something for everyone! The product has two ends one is the high intensity colour lacquer and the other is the lock in balm.

I love this lip duo because it stays put all day with a beautiful shine and it is not in the slightest bit sticky.

Skinny Dipping and I'll Call You are definitely next on my list.

I bought this when Rimmel was on two for £10 at Boots so it was an absolute bargain!

Garnier Ultimate Blends - Honey Treasure

Garnier_Ultimate_Blends_Honey_Treasure

So I am kind of obsessed with the Garnier Ultimate Blends. I have tried most of the scents and whilst strolling through Boots I noticed these bad boys!

What I love most about this combo is that the shampoo is super thick which makes it perfect for rubbing into the scalp and getting a great lather!
The conditioner is super nourishing and clings to the hair making it super smooth!

The Strength Restorer range is aimed at people with fraglie hair and that is prone to breaking, which now that my hair is getting longer and i honestly cannot remember the last time is saw a hair dresser... my hair really needs something to help with the split ends!

The Honey Treasure has a little added Royal Jelly to add extra softness and has a really nice subtle honey scent.

Top 5 | Perfumes

DKNY Red Delicious -  I love this tantalisingly fruity perfume, that is recognisable by almost everyone! It has notes of Champagne Accord, Lychee, Red Raspberry, Apple, Rose, Vanilla Bean, Patchouli, Amber, Sensual Skin Accord and Raspberry. So it is absolutely loaded with fruit scents but for me the floral undertones make it so the fruitiness it not too over done.  from £32.50

Viktor & Rolf Flower Bomb - This was the first higher end perfume i ever owed and i still adore it. I know a lot of people don't like it but for me it is a super sexy perfume with a big vanilla top note and of course the floral notes that make it 'Flower Bomb'. Perfumes being described as floral can really put some people off but this is not like an old lady floral smell it is super sultry and delicious! My absolute favourite! Plus the bottle is shaped this a grenade.. well played Vikor & Rolf.. well played! from £49.50

Dior Miss Dior - This again is a fragrance that some adore and other don't.. For me this is a truly elegant perfume that works great for both day and evening wear. It has a top note of mandarin which gives the perfume a beautiful sweetness. Then softened but jasmine absolute and patchouli. You can read my review of this here. from £46.50

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede - This is the first cologne i have owed from Jo Malone and I'm sure you have seen a lot of bloggers rave about this scent because it is truly stunning. Again as you can probably tell from the name of the scent it is another floral perfume. It has top notes of peony with added rose, jasmine and gillyflower. Jo Malone have added a little red apple into mixture to add a little sweetness to floral party. This is a super delicious, luxurious and mature scent that is perfect for any occasion. from £40

Jimmy Choo Jimmy Choo - The original Jimmy Choo is a fresh and floral scent with notes of tiger orchid, caramel and patchouli which like the other perfumes is a sweet floral rather then an old lady floral. Its a perfect sophisticated scent that is not to heavy for day time and not too light for the evenings. My only niggle with this one is i wish it would last a little longer! from £38.50

What perfumes make it into your top 5?
