Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet vs Aqua ♡

Hi everyone! Sorry i've been gone for a little while - things have been a little in the air with me recently but im back now and i am so excited to be blogging again :)

So its no secret that the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets fast became a cult drug store favourite - the formula is super smooth and applies effortlessly and not to mention the staying power of these beauties is amazing! You can read a review i did here

The Aqua Laque didn't seem to have the same buzz about them - i dont know if thats just me but i rarely hear people raving about these or see them in peoples favourites. However if your not a big fan of matte lips and prefer something super glossy then this would be right up your street.
I must admit it does feel a little strange when first applying because if feels really wet and a little cold. The colour range that is available in this formula isn't as vast as the Velvet editions but they have 8 shades ranging from nudes to pink to reds so there should be something for everyone.

Personally i much prefer the Velvet editions but i do love a matte lip and for me with a lipstick staying power is a must - aint no body got time to top up their lipstick ever hour or so!

Which one is your favourite?

5 Reasons You Should Try Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish ♡

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Review

I absolutely adore the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser so i thought i would share with you my top 5 reasons why you should need to try it!

1. You don't have to splash your face with water and get it all in your hair and mascara running in your eyes!

2.  High quality ingredients mean its great for your skin, it has zero mineral oils and cocoa butter to moisturise, hops extract to tone, chamomile to sooth, eucalyptus to cool, bees wax to protect and rosemary for the amazing antioxidants!

3. It is super easy to disperse with the pump, no trying to squeeze every last drop out until your blue in the face

4. Removes every ounce of make up, even waterproof mascara

5. It lasts for ages, i use this day and night everyday and it lasts a good 3-4 months!

Something I Regret :(

Boots_Botanics_Hot_Cloth_Cleansing_Balm_Review

I really don't like talking negatively about a product but, I was that unhappy with this buy i had to share it.

Its the Boots Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm. I purchased this because i ran out of my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and needed something to fill the gap until pay day. So seeing this in Boots for £8 I thought what a bargain and its just what I needed.

Now i have never used a cleansing balm before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I have heard so many good reviews about the Clinique balm so I was hoping this would be a good little dupe.

Well... it starts off good, the balm is solid in the tube but as soon as you dig your fingers in starts melting and makes it super easy to rub into the face.

Then rubbing it into the face it is super oily and really hard to wash off. i felt like i had to wash my face with a face wash afterwards to make sure all the product was gone!

Its not something I would by again, when I wash my face I want it to feel clean, not like i have rubbed butter all over my face!

Have you tired this? What is your favourite hot cloth cleanser?

Kick Imperfections' Ass...

Soap&Glory_Kick_Ass_Concealer

So it seems I've been on a little concealer buying spree... but i think when you have a good concealer in your arsenal then you've pretty much nailed a flawless look!

I have used the Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer before - the three piece camouflage kit and loved it but when that ran out i went back to the old favourite collection concealer.

Whilst looking for some new makeup this little beauty caught my eye. The Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer - Blur & Brighten concealer. Which comes in a nifty little pen and is available in two colours - Light and Medium.

Of course i went for Light, which matches my skin tone perfectly! This is a great light weight concealer that covers most imperfections, if you have quite dark under eye circles i would probably opt for the original Kick Ass Concealer.

The formula is super creamy which makes it really easy to apply without dragging the skin and super easy to blend in but this does mean it needs to be set with a good powder other wise it creases! It works just as well whether you prefer to apply concealer under your foundation or over the top, but it also looks perfect without any foundation.

Have you tried this yet? if not which concealer do you recommend?

Away With The Fairies | Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds

My favourite Lush Bubble Bar is the Comforter because of it super sweet blackcurrenty scent, with that said it is not the best scent for aiding relaxation and helping to unwind. For me that is where this one comes in.

The Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds Bubble Bar is blended with exotic frankincense and patchouli to help you relax and cinnamon leaf oil to add a little earthyness back to the floral concoction. I am not usually a big fan or floral scents but this has a beautiful warmth to it that make it a very easy scent to get a long with.

This pale blue bubble bar turns the water a beautiful sky blue colour and creates tons of super soft bubbles (fluffy white clouds) The bar costs £4.75 which is one of the more expensive bubble bars but with the size of this you can get a good 3-4 uses from it which if you think about it that way it ends up costing a little less then the others - or is that just me trying to justify buying more!!

Phwoarr!!

So i was a little late getting on the Seventeen wagon but now I'm here I'm not getting off! I firstly picked up the Define & Conquer Contour Palette which  you can see my thoughts here.

Well i went back to Boots and picked up the Phwoarr Paint, mainly because i heard it was a great dupe for Benefits Erase Paste so i thought it was definitely worth a try.

The Phwoarr Paint is available in two shades Fair and Medium. I opted for fair. Both shades are slightly orange toned but thats to counteract the blueness of under eye circles.

This is a super thick and creamy concealer that covers a multitude of sins! It made my bags go away instantly and covered up imperfections like no problem. The only thing with this concealer is that it you really need to make sure you set it with a powder because it does crease and settle in lines after a short time.

I find this works best to apply after moisturiser and primer but before foundation. It creates a perfect base to apply the rest of my makeup.

Have you tried the Phwoarr Paint yet?

How To Notice A Fake | Urban Decay Naked Flushed

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Fake

It can be really hard to notice if your buying an original or a fake when it comes to high end beauty products especially if your purchase them of somewhere like eBay or Depop. I have done a little guide on MAC lipsticks here if you want to have a look at that... but today i'll be telling you what to look out for with the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palettes.

From what i have found so far, the a replica Flushed Palette is only available in the one original shade, Naked so if you see anything that is advertised as a "Brand New Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in either Strip, Native or Streak for anything less then £15 i would stay clear!

The biggest most noticable difference i have seen between the originals and the fakes are the lines in-between the colours.. The originals have clean, straight edges between colour transitions and the fakes are all uneven, which you can see from the photograph below.

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Fake

Something else that is not always the easiest to see the difference between al real and fake is the colour of the packaging. The real Urban Decay packaging is a bronzed colour where as the fakes are have more of a silver look to them.

Urban Decay before the release their product have a quality control and if something is not 100% with a product it will not been sent to stores, so if you receive something thats mirror has slightly come away from the case or doesn't close correctly i would say it has a high chance of being fake and would contact the seller and ask if you could either have a replacement and if that arrives in the same sort of condition i would ask for your money back.

Hope this helps.. let me know if there is anything you would like to see me compare.

Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit

Seventeen Define and Conquer Contour Kit Review

I love a bit of contouring - you can probably tell with the amount of bronzers i have bought over the last few months!
Well today i picked up this Seventeen Define & Conquer Contour Kit.

This is a prefect little palette whether your a contour newbie or a veteran. This handy little kit comes with a matte bronze shade and it unique with the fact it comes with a matte highlight shade.
I mentioned in my The Body Shop Honey Bronzer review that i prefer a cool ashy tones bronzer for contouring and this one is quite red toned, perfect for you girls with olive tones or if your rocking a tan! but for pastey little me its a little too much :( But it is not muddy so perhaps if i had false tan on or got me a but of a natural tan it would look a little better

The highlighter though... I'm all over that! I've not used a matte highlighter before and in my opinion it looks really natural. Shimmery highlighters are perfect for adding a little more radiance into the face but this a subtle lift to the cheeks.

The powder isn't  too powdery either but it does have a little fall out so need to make sure to tap of your brush so you don't overload your face!!

Want Sensational Looking Lashes?

Maybelline_Lash_Sensational_Mascara_Review

Its no secret that Maybelline make my favourite mascaras- for as long as i can remember i have using The Falsies mascara and it has always been my go to mascara but my latest lot came to the end of it life and whilst in Boots i came across the Lash Sensational mascara and thought i would give it a go!

The first thing that pulled me about this product is the packaging its such a lovely pink colour and its the typical Maybelline mascara shape.

The formula for this mascara is super wet to begin with so its on you have to be careful not to get all over your eyes when you apply - i think with use this will dry up a little and make application a little easier! The formula is also super black which perfect for making those lashes pop!

What really make this mascara stand out for me is the wand, its curved which makes it super easy to get every lash but what make it really exciting to the 10 layers of synthetic bristles which separates every lash and makes them flare out and look gorgeous!

From what i could see in Boots there was only one option available in the UK at them moment which is the shade Very Black, but i don't think it will be very long before a brown and waterproof version is available.

Lash Sensation doesn't wear off throughout the day nor does it leave you with little panda eyes, i think i may have just found my new favourite mascara *heart eyed emoji*

Have you tried Maybellines Lash Sensational Mascara yet?

New Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer Review

Rimmel_Lasting_Finish_Primer_Review

I love using Benefits Porefessional primer but its not too friendly on the purse :( I have finally found a drugstore primer that lives up to what it says on the packaging!
Don't you just hate it when you find a foundation you absolutely love the formula of but after half a day it has disappeared  I'm the sort of person that when I am sat at my desk at work my hands are all over my face- rubbing my nose and resting my cheek in my hands.

Rimmels Lasting Finish Primer claims to extend foundation wear by up to 8 hours. I have been using this for the past week and i have noticed a difference in my makeup longevity, i haven't felt the need to top up during the day.

Unfortunately i have quite large pores at either side of nose and find it near impossible to find something that minimises them. This is supposed to visibly blur and minimise pores and imperfections. For me this does nothing for hiding my pores but it did help to cover up those little marks left behind after a pimple!

When i squeezed it out of the tube it looked to have a slight blue tint but this soon disappeared when rubbed into the skin. It make my skin feel really smooth and my foundation applied like a dream over the top!

Urban Decay - Naked

The much loved Naked Palette, I cannot believe it took me so long to buy this little beauty! I have just put it off thinking 'no I don't really need it' when in reality now i actually have it, i really did need it!

The palette comes with twelve beautiful shades from a very pale white to a super sultry grey. All twelve are super soft and buttery which means they blend like a dream. The shades are also super pigmented so it doesn't need a lot of product on the brush to get beautiful colour pay off on the lids.

Virgin - A pale shimmer nude, Sin - A Champagne with pink shimmery undertones, Naked - Matte Medium Brown, Sidecar - A bronzed brown, Buck - A darker Matter Brown (than Naked), Half Baked -  A super shimmery bronzed gold, Smog - A glittery dark bronze, Dark Horse - Deep brown with bronze flecks, Toasted - Shimmery pink/brown, Hustle - A deep purple/brown with shimmer, Creep - Black with gold shimmer, Gunmetal - Medium blue toned grey with silver flecks.

Along side the palette you also get four samples of Urban Decays Primer Potion in the shades, Original which when dry is invisible so it doesn't have any effect on the shadow, except making it last so much longer that is! Eden which is a matte nude shade, Sin which is a shimmer  base and finally Anti Ageing which kind of speaks for itself. Together with the Urban Decay double sided shadow brush, with a fluffy side for blending and a more compact side for apply colour.

Do you owe the Naked Palette?
